Pakanon and Chiani of Thailand became the best players in Kathmandu International Virtual Taekwondo

Pakanon Chancharan of Thailand and Chiani Tijinghintoji of Suriname have been named the best players in the Kathmandu International Virtual Taekwondo Poomsae Championship. Pakanon has been declared the best player for men and Chiani for women.

In the championship, Pakanon had won gold in the under-12 competition. Chiani, on the other hand, won gold in the women’s under-14 event. He was declared the best player on the basis of points, said tournament coordinator Kumar Lama Ghising.

The best male and female players will each receive a 100 prize. The men’s award is sponsored by Rabin Kumar Nalbo, founder of Everest Taekwondo Academy Hong Kong. The women’s award is sponsored by Deukaji Gurung, founder of Horizon Taekwondo Association Hong Kong.

The decision of the most like video of the championship will be made only next Friday, said the competition coordinator Ghising. The most viewed video on YouTube will receive a सय 200 prize for Most Like Video.

Malaysia has become the champion in the championship. Malaysia had won 6 gold, four silver and seven bronze medals. Similarly, Nepal came second with four gold, seven silver and 10 bronze medals. Mexico finished third with two gold and one silver medal. Three hundred and sixty two players from 19 countries including Nepal competed in the championship.

One hundred and ninety players from Nepal and one hundred and seventy one players from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Macau, Suriname, Thailand, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Timor, United Kingdom, South Korea, Philippines and Cambodia participated in the championship.

The championship is a joint initiative of United Taekwondo Dojang, Sitapaila Taekwondo Dojang, Sagarmatha New Baneshwor Taekwondo Dojang and Pingla Taekwondo Dojang. In the championship, men and women competed in 18 age groups.
