Lamjung: A test flight of paragliding from Harsing Danda, a tourist spot in Marsyangdi Gaonpalika-3 of Lamjung, has been successful. The village municipality has conducted paragliding test flight from Harsing Danda for the first time with the objective of developing Harsing Danda as a tourist destination and promoting tourism.

Pokhara-based Open Sky Paragliding Practice Tandem Flight Pilot Nuren Rana and Solo Flight Pilot Suman Magar conducted the paragliding test flight. The paragliding, which started its flight from Harsingh Danda on Monday morning, landed at Kuwapani in Marsyangdi village in about half an hour.
According to him, in the past, the locals had been grazing sheep and cows on the Harsing hill. “Harsingh Danda, which used to be a pasture, is now being developed as a tourist destination,” said Vice President BK. He said that Manaslu Himal, Lamjung Himal and many other mountain ranges can be seen from Harsing Danda at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level.
He also said that the village aims to increase tourist arrivals by developing a picnic spot as well as a footpath in Harsingh Danda. Village chairman Arjun Gurung, vice chairman BK, ward chairman Prem Bahadur Basnet and others were present on the paragliding test flight.
